PRIVACY POLICY
OVERVIEW
GMeter ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Location Data. If you choose to use the "Use My Location" feature, GMeter requests access to your device's GPS coordinates. This location data is used solely to identify the nearest city in our database and display its crime index score. We do not store, log, or transmit your location to any server.
Usage Data. We do not collect, track, or store any personal information about you, your searches, or your browsing behavior. GMeter operates entirely within your browser — no data is sent to or stored on our servers.
Cookies. GMeter does not use cookies or any other tracking technologies.
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
Location data, if provided, is processed locally in your browser to match your coordinates to the nearest city. It is never transmitted, stored, sold, or shared with any third party.
THIRD PARTY SERVICES
When you use the GPS location feature, your coordinates are sent to Nominatim (openstreetmap.org), an open-source geocoding service, to convert coordinates into a city name. Please review OpenStreetMap's privacy policy at openstreetmap.org/privacy for details on how they handle this data.
DATA SECURITY
Since GMeter does not collect or store personal data, there is no personal data at risk. All crime data displayed in the app is sourced from publicly available government datasets.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
GMeter is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
